Recycling

There is no charge for recycling.

Recyclables should be loose and not bagged, and they do not need to be separated.

Trash

All trash that is not recyclable must be contained in Town of Lucas bags, which cost $2.00 each.

Bags can be bought at:

  • The Town Hall during recycling/trash hours (sold in packs of 10, exact change of $20 per pack or check to Town of Lucas only)

  • Bob & Steve's BP station in Knapp (Mon-Fri 4am-8pm, Sat 7am-8pm, Sun 8am-8pm)

  • Countryside Valley Bar

Larger items that do not fit in Town of Lucas trash bags may be accepted at Spring and Fall Cleanup Days (see below).

Cleanup Days

The Town of Lucas holds Spring and Fall Cleanup Days where we accept larger trash and recyclables.

The next Cleanup Day will be Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 3-6pm.

Note that there may be a fee for some items; all fees are subject to change at the next Cleanup Day.

GFL Environmental (formerly Menomonie Disposal) offers a home pickup service for many items.

Recyc-All Services in Menomonie takes many electronics, small appliances, TVs, computers and accessories, batteries, ink/toner cartridges and more for recycling, some for free and some for a small fee. Kersten Family Junk Removal will haul away almost anything (for a fee), and will recycle what they can, including mattresses. See their website or call (715) 598-3677.
