Alcohol & Operator Licenses
Several alcohol laws and forms have changed effective 2024. For a summary, click here.
For new and renewing bartenders:
Operator License Application (to serve liquor)
$17 fee per person for background check
To apply for an original or renewal alcohol license:
Alcohol Beverage License Application (Form AB-200)
$100 for Class “B” beer
$300 for “Class B” liquor
$17 per person listed in Part C of the form for background checks
$15 publication fee
Each person listed in Part C of Form AB-200 must complete:
Alcohol Beverage Individual Questionnaire (Form AB-100)
No fee
If the business is a LLC or corporation, they must designate one agent:
Alcohol Beverage Appointment of Agent (Form AB-101)
No fee for original appointment of agent; $10 fee for appointment of successor agent
To apply for a temporary permit for a picnic or other event:
Temporary Class “B” Retailer’s License Application (Form AB-220)
$10 application fee + $7 for a background check (required for first-time applicants)
Only select nonprofit organizations can apply for a temporary permit; see instructions on the application
Return all forms and fees (checks made out to Town of Lucas) to the clerk at the town hall (address below), or put in the drop box at the town hall.

Town permits:
NEW! Land Use Permit Application
Required for most new construction, remodeling and razing
Refer to the town Property Code Ordinance Regarding Building, Electrical, Plumbing and Heating and Ventilation codes
All dogs 5 months old or older must be licensed annually
Required for new driveways and modifications to driveways accessed from town roads
Burn Permits
The town does not issue burn permits. Contact the fire department that serves your property to obtain a permit and for information on when burning bans are in effect.
Failure to get a permit or comply with bans may result in a citation by the Dunn County Sheriff and/or reimbursement to the town for fire calls.
