The Town of Lucas uses Badger Books - electronic pollbooks - rather than paper pollbooks. Some things to know about Badger Books:
They are used only to check-in voters, register new voters and process the receipt of absentee ballots.
They do not count votes, nor can you vote on them.
They are never connected to the internet.
They make the process of voting much quicker and more streamlined and reduce the potential for poll worker mistakes.

In-Person Early Voting
If you’re not able to make it to the polls on election day, the state of Wisconsin allows clerks to offer in-person absentee (early) voting within two weeks of an election.
The Town of Lucas clerk will set at least two sessions prior to each election day at the Town Hall for early voting. See the Elections page for sessions for the upcoming election.
You will be given a ballot to vote then and there (you can’t take the ballot home). Your ballot is sealed in an envelope and stored in the secure vault to be processed on election day.
Just like on election day, you must present a valid photo ID to the clerk when you vote in-person absentee. Click here for list of acceptable photo IDs.
You can also register to vote or drop off an absentee ballot you received in the mail during in-person absentee voting sessions.
If you’re registering to vote, you will need to bring proof of residence. Click here for a list of acceptable documents.
