ALCOHOL BEVERAGE LICENSING: Can I get a permit to serve alcohol at an event? The town issues temporary Class “B” (picnic) licenses to sell fermented malt beverages at picnics or similar gatherings by bona fide clubs, Chambers of Commerce, or other nonprofit organizations. BUILDING PERMITS, INSPECTIONS AND LAND USE PERMITS: When do I need them? Refer to the Title 15 Property Code Ordinance for information on when permits and inspections are required, or contact the chair. How do I get them? Find permit applications on the Forms & Permits page. Residential building permits and inspections are carried out by Weber Inspections; call (715) 556-0066 or email.
BURN PERMITS: How do I get one? Contact the fire department that serves your property to obtain a permit and for information on when burning bans are in effect. Failure to get a permit or comply with bans may result in a citation by the Dunn County Sheriff and/or reimbursement to the town for fire calls.

DOG/PET LICENSING: Do I need to license my dog or other pets? All dogs 5 months old or older must be licensed with the town annually. Failure to do so may result in citations and/or fines. DRIVEWAY PERMITS: When do I need one? They are required by the town for many new driveways. Contact the chair for more information. How do I get one? Find permit applications on the Forms & Permits page.
NEWSLETTER: Is there a newsletter or some other way to keep up with town events? You can provide your email address at the bottom of every page of this website. The town hasn’t had a newsletter in a while, but the clerk intends to send occasional important information by email.
POLLING PLACE: Where can I vote in the town? The polling place for all Town of Lucas registered voters is the town hall.
POSTING: How does the town post information about meetings and other events? The clerk posts all required notices on the board outside the door of the hall, and on this website. You can also sign up for the newsletter at the bottom of every page on this website.
RECYCLING AND TRASH: How do I have it removed? The town provides collection at the town hall two days a week. Refer to the Recycling & Trash page for more information. You can also contract with a private company; GFL Environmental serves the area.
SNOW REMOVAL: Can I push snow (or other materials) across the road to clear my driveway? Pushing snow or other materials across roads or into a public right-of way from side roads and driveways is prohibited under Wis. Stats. 86.01, 86.07, and/or 346.94 and Section 6.1.4. of the Town Code of Ordinances and is subject to citation and/or fines.
TOWN HALL RENTAL: Can I rent the hall for an event? Yes! No alcohol can be served or brought into the hall. The fee is approximately $100 for cleaning. Contact the clerk for more information.
ZONING AND LAND USE: How do I start the process of getting my property re-zoned or otherwise changing the way I can use my property? Contact the Land Planning Commission chair for more information.
