Vote by Mail

To request an absentee ballot, go to MyVote WI.

The deadline to request an absentee ballot is 5:00 PM on the 5th day preceding an election. Check the Elections page for dates for the upcoming election.

You must be a registered voter to receive an absentee ballot. Check your registration status on MyVote Wisconsin.

The easiest and fastest way to request an absentee ballot is by visiting MyVote Wisconsin.

  • Choose “Vote Absentee by Mail” and follow the instructions.

  • It’s easy and takes only a few minutes.

  • The clerk gets the request immediately and will mail out your ballot within 24 hours (Monday through Friday) when in the absentee ballot window (absentee ballots can be sent beginning 47 days before a federal election, or 21 days before a primary or other election).

You can also fill out an Application for Absentee Ballot.

  • Three ways to send it back:

    • Fill it out electronically and email it to the clerk

    • Print it and mail it to Town Clerk, E2301 State Rd 29, Menomonie, WI 54751

    • Print it and drop it off in the secure drop box near the SW corner of the Town Hall

  • Follow all instructions on page 2 of the form, and include a copy of your photo ID.

NOTE: If you got a Wisconsin Absentee Ballot Request form from the Republican Party of Wisconsin or other source, you can use that to request an absentee ballot but you must attach a copy of your photo ID. The form doesn’t say this on it anywhere. Wisconsin law requires a photo ID to be presented for voting, in person and by mail. Any of these forms received without photo ID will be rejected.
